MLA Sections, Roundtables and Committees will have the opportunity to meet to plan their programs for the MLA Conference in Tunica to be held in October. Chairs should contact Mary Julia Anderson by Friday, January 20, at the MLA office at 601-981-4586 or info@misslib.org to let her know if you wish to schedule a meeting. She will make the arrangements for locations and times of meetings during that day. MLA Midwinter provides an opportunity for our organization to meet, informally, at a time in addition to our Annual Conference. Please make use of our MLA Midwinter/Library Advocacy Day to meet with your fellow librarians to help our Vice President/President-elect, Catherine Nathan, in planning a successful 2006 Conference.

The Legislative Committee will host a Legislative Update at 4:00 pm, followed by the Legislative Reception, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, in the new MLC building. Please plan to attend the meeting and reception to meet with our Legislators and help keep them aware of the needs of libraries throughout the State.
