Tuesday, February 6, 2007

The annual Mississippi Library Association Midwinter/Library Advocacy Day will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007. Vice President/President-elect, Jeff Slagell encourages MLA Sections, Roundtables and Committees to use the day to plan 2007 conference programs and conduct other business. Chairs should contact Mary Julia Anderson at the MLA office at 601.981.4586 or mjanderson@mla.org by Friday, January 26, to arrange a location/time for a meeting.

The Legislative Reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Mississippi Library Commission, at 3881 Eastwood Drive, Jackson. Plan to attend the reception to talk with your Legislators about relevant library issues.

A formal legislative briefing will not be held. However, a handout of legislative talking points has been prepared by the Legislative Committee and will be available at the Library Commission Reception Desk. Legislative Committee members will be available from 4:00-5:00 p.m. to answer your questions prior to visiting with legislators during the reception. Check at the reception desk for the exact location.
