Mississippi author featured at MSU Libraries

On Wednesday, June 30, 2010, native Mississippi author John Aubrey Anderson was Mississippi State University Libraries’ special guest for a reception celebrating his latest novel.

Now a resident of Texas’ Dallas/Ft. Worth area, Anderson was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. He was growing up in cotton country when he saw John Wayne in Flying Tigers and knew he wanted to be a pilot. After graduating from MSU, he joined the US Air Force, served three tours of duty in Southeast Asia, and went on to fly planes for Delta Air Lines for 28 years.

“My career in the cockpit was nothing less than a thirty-five-year answer to a young boy’s unspoken prayer,” Anderson says. “And now I get to write.”

During his presentation at MSU Libraries, Anderson shared experiences of his writing career, especially about writing his current novel, The Cool Woman.
