2017 MLA Conference Program Proposals and Poster Sessions

Wednesday, May 24, 2017 9:30 AM | Tina Harry (Administrator)

We would like to invite you to submit a proposal for the 2017 MLA Annual Conference!  This year’s conference will be held at the Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, MS from October 17-20, 2017.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Tell Your Story”.  Stories have been passed down from generations to generations and make us, as individuals, unique and special.  Stories also connect us to each other and to our communities.  For libraries, stories can help illustrate relevance, community impact, and play an integral role in library advocacy.

There are many ways to "Tell Your Story" and we want to hear them all!

Accepted program presentations should be able to fit within a 45 minute segment with time for questions.

Posters will be presented during two presentation slots that will each have 8-9 poster sessions giving a 5-minute lightening talk on their idea. Posters will then be on display in the conference center for attendees to view and ask questions.

Please click on this link to submit your proposal online.

The deadline is June 30, 2017.
