Jamie Stanfield, Assistant Professor and Science, Nursing, & Health Librarian at Southern Miss Libraries, has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 Mississippi Library Association Past President’s AwardThis annual award is given to an outstanding beginning professional librarian who is an active MLA member. Award recipients must hold an MLS degree, be employed in Mississippi and have between two and six years’ professional experience, two of which must be in Mississippi. 

 

Stanfield is employed at the Gulf Coast Library in Long Beach, MS and has been with Southern Miss University Libraries since February 2018. She received her MLIS in 2015 from Texas Woman’s University. Stanfield also possesses a Master of Arts in history and is currently pursuing a PhD in history.
